MissionMatch

A faith-based platform connecting Christian retirees with the churches and ministries that need their skills, time, and gentle wisdom.

The why

My wife's grandfather, "Poppy," retired a few months ago after 32 years as a quality manager. The company still doesn't quite know what to do without his eye for detail and the way he genuinely cared about the people he worked with. Now he's home wondering, "Well, what do I do?"

Poppy isn't alone. There are 70+ million Boomers in the same season. Retired, healthy, capable, and quietly asking whether anyone still needs what they have to give. Many ministries are short on dependable, trustworthy volunteers. The two groups exist in the same towns and don't find each other.

Generic volunteer marketplaces have tried to solve this. They don't work for this audience. Retirees don't want gamified streaks, and they don't trust an app that asks for a background check before it asks their name.

What I was thinking

MissionMatch is a church-network-first marketplace. Trust comes from the congregation. A known leader vouches for a volunteer, a known church vouches for a ministry need. No metrics-driven feed, no gamification, no leaderboards. A clean way to see local opportunities, raise your hand, and show up.

Design principle: so easy your grandmother can use it. Niche on purpose. Christian retirees first, not everyone, not yet. The success picture is Poppy and his buddies meeting at McDonald's at 6am for coffee before heading to the children's home to do landscaping, then sticking around to play pickup basketball with the kids.

Still building. Pilot launching first with churches in Chattanooga. If you're a church or ministry leader who'd want a first look, get in touch.
